The most critical interface in which the carbide is subjected to the most trauma is during entry and exit of the material. This is caused by the lack of lubricity to the cutting edge. The Double-Jet Gundrill was designed by Star Cutter to combat this type of condition. The unique placement of the coolant hole supplies adequate amounts of coolant to the cutting edge during entry and while exiting through holes.
The added benefit is its ability to make intersecting holes and/or break through irregular surfaces without premature wear. As with all gundrill type tools, straightness, cylindricity, size and finish are obtained. Double-Jet Gundrills are available in diameters from .250" - 1.5" with lengths available to 72". |
